Last weekend saw the practical training for the 2016 Fuch’s team in the Cairngorms. The team met up at Glenmore Lodge, Scotland’s National Mountain Centre for a weekend of skills training, equipment checks and a general bit of fun in the snow! Included in the fun was hauling the sledges, carrying the big rucsacs, looking at glacier rescue skills and of course living in a snowy environment! Many thanks go to the team at Glenmore Lodge for their help over the weekend and to the lovely Scottish weather gods for giving the team all of the weather options in one...

We sent our Overseas Expedition Manager to the Royal Geographical Society this week to take part in the On Site Safety Management Course run by the RGS in conjunction with the British Standard 8848. This is an industry led course looking at all area of the risks and actions of sending groups overseas. The course was attended by both teachers, overseas providers and military personal which created some lively debate about ‘best practice’ and the changes in the industry over the last few years.
